Mon - May 28th - Fun Memorial Weekend

The girls had a fun packed memorial day weekend which started with an hour drive  on Saturday to visit friends in Ramsey, NJ. Sofia had such a great time, Mommy hardly heard from her during the visit. She played nicely with her two friends, Allison and Megan. Mommy and Daddy had a great time with the adults and Solymar just behaved wondering when would it be time for her to have fun too.

On Sunday it was Solymar's turn to see her friend, Miss Adalaide.  We went to Pennsylvania to a nice park where the playground is a wooden castle. While Solymar and Adalaide baby talked away by the shade , Sofia had fun in the playground.

 As if the fun on Saturday and Sunday was not enough, on Monday we went around the neighborhood to a local farm to pick strawberries. It was very hot outside, Sofia had a great time picking her own fruit, Solymar just took a nap during the trip.

Mon - May 21st - 3 Months Old

Last week Solymar turned 3 months!
These days she reaches for things and bats her toys. She also touches Mommie's and Titi's faces when they are feeding her. She brings her hands together and loves to suck on them. Big sister Sofia sucks her thumb like her grandfather used to do, Solymar sucks her middle fingers like Mommy used to do. She holds her head steady for longer periods of time, rolls over from belly to back and has wiggled enough in her bassinet to move herself from a vertical position into a horizontal position. She is more social these days and baby talks with people and smiles back a lot too.
This week was Daddy's birthday .... here are pictures of Solymar practicing her dancing moves during the week and then socializing with people at the party this weekend ....

Sun - May 13th - Mother's Day

Mommy's 3rd mother's day started just like the first, with a trip to church to present her little baby to God and the church community. Here is a picture from Solymar's blessing today and Sofia's three years ago.

After church we had a good lunch at one of Mommy's favorite restaurants and we headed home. While Solymar and Mommy stayed inside away from the hot weather, Sofia went outside with Daddy. She had so much fun, the pictures below show it. The first one in the morning before heading to church, the second one in the afternoon after she came back into the house from helping Daddy with some backyard work.

Mon May 7th - Growing Like a Weed!

Solymar is 11 weeks old as of Friday and she is getting bigger by the minute. Mommy loves her chubby cheeks and legs. She keeps Titi Mayi busy during the day since she sleeps less during the day now giving Mommy a 5 hr stretch at night. When she is awake, she either wants milk or attention.  Below is a video of the smiles and baby talk  that make our hearts melt. Notice her "trompita" (pouty face) at the end of the video as she gets startle by noise from the kitchen.

Big sister Sofia's routine has changed drastically, she went from having  Titi Mayi's full attention most of the day to getting very little of her time. Nonetheless Sofia is protective  of the little one, expresses her love and kisses Solymar every day.  She is a good big sister and takes care of the baby by  giving her the pacifier when she cries or talking to her to entertain her. Below is a video of Sofia reading to the baby. She makes Mommy very proud.... and I hope they grow up to be very close.
