Mon - Dec 28th - Baby's 1st Christmas

Sofia had a great 1st christmas, not only she had a house full of people to play with... she also got lots of gifts and enjoyed opening her presents.

Fri-Dec 18th - Wow 10 Months!

10 months .... She is getting more stable on her feet... not only is she cruising, she is also climbing the stairs. She started to eat from Mommy's plate, adding white and yellow rice to her favorite's list. This month we also started finger foods and her first tooth is now on sight ...

Sat - Dec 5th - "A Little Bit of Everything"

Lots of little things going on at home ....

... Sofia is crawling in all fours

... She has mastered the walker

... She can stand against the wall for a while

... She knows how to sit down

... She is doing some cruising

... In addition to Mama, she has said "Nena", she tries to say "Chula".... she says "Pa" but no "Papa" or "Dada" yet

... She picked her fist christmas tree ... daddy cut it

... She tried beans (we have to work on how to to puree them right) .... she also had chicken and liked it ... home made mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes are two other favorites added to the list

Wed - Nov 18th - "9 Mos Old ... Yes!! Already"

Sofia is 9 months old already... how exciting month 8 was. We started with a change of caregivers, my aunt takes care of Sofia at home now which works great for all of us.

The most exciting surprise this month was Sofia learning to pull herself up. We lowered the crib one setting but that does not stop her. She spends the day on the move or standing holding on to something, she conquered sitting but is not interested on spending much time seating anymore. She also can crawl on all fours, got on a swing for the first time (didn't enjoy it much), holds her bottle (when she feels like it) and ate eggs and pumpkin for the first time. We can't wait to see what month 9 has in store for us. More Pics -> 8 months slideshow

Sat - Nov 7th - "Pulling Herself Up"

We spend the days following Sofia around the house as she does not stay still, yep just like Mommy. She is now trying to pull herself up from everything she can reach. She is not able to pull herself to a standing position yet, she just gets on her knees. I am sure she will be standing in no time.

Sun - Oct 18th - "8 Mos Old"

Sofia is 8 months old today !!! She is getting so big and is all smiles these days. Last month she started the army crawl and is working on using the knees now. She went on her first flight to visit the family in Puerto Rico; she slept the 3.5 hrs flight going to PR and almost the whole flight coming back. But the best thing is that she has started to say MAMA!! not directly at me, but that doesn't make it less exciting.

Oct 9th - "Almost 8 mos Check up"

We had a follow up with the pediatrician today .... Sofia weighs 13 pounds 7 ounces and she is 25 inches long. She was very wiggly on the examination table but well behaved.

She is enjoying her mobility ... as you can see on the picture of her exploring the office ...

and we are starting to use a sippy cup to drink water ...

Oct 1st - "Army Crawl"

Sofia is getting bigger by the minute. She is growing so fast, she can now army crawl across the room ... she loves the floor.

Fri-Sept 30th - Happy B-Day Great Grandma!

Fri-Sept 18th - "7 Months Old"

Sofia is 7 months old today ... she has grown so much... strong and beautiful (just like her mommy ;0)) ... We are truly blessed. This month her menu options were expanded and now it also includes apples, bananas, pears, carrots, sweet potatoes and squash. Mommy is making some of the food at home. Sofia's favorite so far has been the bananas; the last batch of bananas were very ripe and sweet. Every time she had some of those bananas she would get very excited and eager to eat more.
Her feisty personality (just like Daddy's not Mommy's ;0)) really came thru this month, sometimes it felt like she was 6 months old with a 16 yrs old attitude, check out her face expression in the two pictures below.

Wed - Sept 2nd - "Sleeping In Her Own Room"

Yesterday Sofia spent the night in her room alone for the first time. She is not over the weight limit for her bassinet. She can't pull herself up yet. But she is sooo presentá!! that she found the velcro from the bassinet's canopy and she was grabbing it and putting it in her mouth ... a choking hazard.

Since she is sleeping through the night I thought it was best for her to sleep in the crib rather than the playard mattress. She slept well ... I woke up 5 times to check on her and can't stop thinking about the days my little girl slept right next to me in her little co-sleeper.
