Thur - May 28- "My Hair is Changing"
Sofia's hair started to change and she is getting darker hair. She is also loosing her baby hair and has bald spots on the sides of her head... bendito!
She spends most of the day awake, her naps are a lot shorter during the day. She gets bored quickly with the toys and is very attached to her pacifier.

Check out my favorite item these days... the Quilt I'm laying on is a gift from my friend Charles from Illinois, pic below. He also came to the world early and is growing stronger and more handsome every day.
Charles' Mommy asked his Grandma to make the quilt for me. She made me feel special, Thank You! I really like my quilt and will enjoy it for years to come.

Fri - May 8 - "Give Me More, Give Me, Give Me More"
Sofia was very hungry yesterday and had three meals of more than 4 ounces... it wasn't me there was no spit ups.
She also slept very little during the day which made for a very pleasant night. She "slept through the night" by babies' standards... She went to sleep at 9:30pm and slept until 2:30am, had her milk and went to sleep right away until 6:30am.

Tue - May 5 - "Mommy's Favorites"
The eye appointment went well; Sofia's eyes are normal and she doesn't have to go thru the painful eye test anymore... Thank God!
These days Mommy needs help entertaining Sofia and making her fall asleep for nap time since her 4 oz meals don't do it anymore. Mommy is grateful for these...
1- The rocking chair : the bouncer we had broke, so Mommy bought a new one that can be used as a rocking chair until Sofia reaches 40 pounds. The toys and the vibrations help out.

2- The sling carrier : I try to let Sofia sleep on her own so when I go back to work the nanny doesn't have her hands full, but sometimes Sofia just need to be held. Since I also has things to do in the house the sling carrier comes to the rescue.
3- Good old pacifier : The last two weeks we started using the pacifier, it works great when Sofia keeps her hands away from it. She reaches for it and pulls it out of her mouth, but still one of Mommy's helpers these days.
4- The tummy time pillow: Usually on the bed after 10 minutes Sofia starts crying but if she lays on this pillow she looks around for a little bit and then falls asleep on it, no fuzz.

Mon - May 4 - "The Baby is Growing"
Daddy was surprised the other night when he found Sofia wide awake, looking around the room. Her eyes were wide open as she explored his face. He stayed away from us for 2 days because of the swine flu we were
Sofia smiles at Mommy now almost on a daily basis. She has also shared smiles with Daddy in response to him talking and singing to her.
I always heard people say babies can smell their mommies and I guess that explains why when Sofia is crying requesting company; she quiets down as soon as mommy enters the room... Not to say that I'm stinky :)

Sat - May 2 - "My Left Eye is Bugging"
Saturday morning we are stressing about Sofia's left eye which has yellow discharge. We clean her eye and then there is more. Since her eye is not red, we are just cleaning it and watching it. If something changes will take her to the Dr. We have stayed inside all week to avoid the flu, next week we have the follow up appointment with the eye Dr.
Check out Sofia's spike hair below after a bath the other day.... summer weather makes her hair frizzy.
